Werner E. Bernecker, age 86, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025 at Hampton Place Healthcare in Rogers, Arkansas. He was born in Germany on July 5, 1938. At just 16 years old, Werner arrived in the United States, driven by ambition and a thirst for knowledge. He quickly secured a position on a cruise ship, where a pivotal friendship with an American led to his sponsorship. This marked the beginning of his successful life in America.

Werner's career journey led him to the American Can Company, where he dedicated himself until his retirement at age 65. During his time with the company in Wisconsin, he married his first wife, Carol. After her passing, he found love again with Wilma, sharing 17 years of marriage. They made their home in Rogers, Arkansas, before her death. He later found companionship with his third wife, Elizabeth, until her passing in 2020.

He was preceded in the death by his three wives; his twin brother in Germany; brother in-law, Tommy Kilpatrick; sister in-law, Lois Kilpatrick.

Werner is survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Bill and Jane Kilpatrick of Farmington, Arkansas; W.O. Kilpatrick of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and Ben and Judy Kilpatrick and Marilyn Kilpatrick, all of Springdale, Arkansas.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home in Springdale, Arkansas. A private burial will take place at a later date at Coil Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest alongside his late wife, Elizabeth Kilpatrick Ambrosy.
