Virginia Catherine Rice, age 90 of Springdale, died Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at her home. She was born April 20, 1931, in Fisher, Arkansas to William Homer and Elsie Alina (Mabry) Sanders. Virginia married James Harold Rice who preceded her in death on October 19, 2016. She was an incredible homemaker and showered her family with love. Virginia Catherine was a strong, independent woman who would do anything for her family, especially her grandchildren. While she lived a very busy life, in her down time she enjoyed reading and watching westerns.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Christine Ging and Martha Brown, a brother, Jessie Sanders, and 2 great-granddaughters.

She is survived by four daughters, Barbara Woods and husband Jerry of Springdale, Peggy Olson and husband Steve of Bella Vista, Cheryl Brady and Cindy Rice both of Springdale; grandchildren, Carrie Edens, Everett Woods, Virginia "Jenny" Van Es, Carolyn Carter, Diane Gorney, Miranda Walcott, Marsha Crow, Sherri Hicks, Jeffery Kiech, Jessica Ring, Felicia Fennell, Karissa Starks, Heather Brady, Amanda Brady; 42 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2pm Friday, April 15, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Jones officiating. Burial will be at Brentwood Cemetery .  Visitation will be 5-7pm Thursday at the funeral home.
