Valera Zachary Wallis, age 84 of Lowell, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2026, in Springdale. She was born on May 31, 1941 in Springdale to the late Sherman and Geneva Barton Zachary. On June 11, 1959, she married Jerry Wallis in Springdale. Mrs. Wallis was employed with Brothers International in Memphis as an executive secretary before retiring in 2002 and moving back to Springdale. She was a member of the Church of Christ of Springdale. Valera was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry in 2016 and her son, Zachary in 2023; seven siblings, VG Zachary, Albert Zachary, Pauline Sharp, Isabelle Meeker, Leanell Shockley, Thelma Erwin and Shirley Lichtenberg.

She is survived by her daughter, LaDawna Sperber of Springdale; three granddaughters, Hayley Johnson and her husband, Chris of Bella Vista, Hattie Garcia and her husband, Miguel of Springdale, Catherine Holland and her husband, Jesse of Cave Springs; great grandson, Lucas Garcia; sister, Margie King of Lowell; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Grant Siemens officiating. The interment will follow at Bluff Cemetery in Springdale. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2026 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Chris Johnston, Miguel Garcia, Jesse Holland, Darren King, Cameron King and Ben Soto.
