Shyla Lea Head, age 69 of Elkins, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born on January 16, 1957 in Topeka, Kansas to the late Harold Earl Thompson and Dorthy Ann Wolford Drain. Shyla was proud of her family and expressed compassion and care of those around her. She was preceded in death by son, Shane Thompson, sister, Cynthia Cole and brother, David Thompson.

Shyla is survived by her husband of 33 years, Randy Head; two children, Alicia Murrison and her husband, Gary of Huntsville, Arkansas and Shawn Thompson and his wife Charlene of Lowell, Arkansas; three sisters, Rebecca Annis of Prairie Grove, Rhonda Bunch and husband, Artis of Patrick, Penny Grayeagle of Fayetteville; sixteen grandchildren, Summer Hart, Kyle Murrison and his wife Gabriell, Justin Murrison, Morgan Reyngoudt and her husband, Josh, Katelyn Kamady, Destiney Thompson, Walker Thompson, Reagan Thompson, Quensey Thompson, Maddlyne Reed, Bryan Sebring, Christa Ivy, Charlie Warren, Haylee Warren, Lee Warren, April Warren; four great grandchildren, Isabella Eckhert, Jesse Torres, Paisley Murrison and Layla Murrison; several nieces and nephews. 

Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 9, 2026 at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel in Springdale, Arkansas. Cremation is under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home.
