Ronald Lee Powell, 80, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, May 13, 2023, in Springdale, Arkansas. Ron was born on December 18, 1942, to Johnnie and Mamie Powell in St. Louis, Missouri. After graduating high school in Eminence, Missouri he went on to study engineering at the School of Mines in Rolla, Missouri. After graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering, he spent 26 years working for the Department of Defense for the US Army.

On December 27, 1963, Ron Married his high school sweetheart, Emma. This year marks their 60 ^th wedding anniversary. They have two children, Rhonda and Jeff. After retirement, Ron spent his time enjoying life with his family, seeking new adventures, and devoting himself to his beloved grandchildren, AJ and Nick.

He is survived by his loving wife, Emma Powell; children, Rhonda (Jeff) Vinger and Jeff (Kelly) Powell all of Springdale; AJ Powell and Nick Vinger both of Springdale, Arkansas; sisters, Jackie Medley of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Jimmie Huffman of Birch Tree, Missouri; two sisters-in-laws, Alice Smith and Cathy Lease both of Springdale, Arkansas as well as many loved nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service to follow at 12:00 p.m. that same day at Clifty Cemetery in Huntsville, Arkansas.
