Archie Ray Rutledge, 66, of Springdale, died Thursday, August 5, 2021 at his home.  He was born November 20, 1954 in Salisbury, North Carolina to Archie Ray, Sr. and Annie Louise (Beaver) Butts.

Ray graduated from Wynne High School in 1973 and then enlisted in the Navy where he served six years.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and sports, especially watching the Razorbacks, Cardinals and Cowboys.  He was devoted to his family and loved time with his grandchildren.

Ray is survived by his wife, Lucinda (Barkley) Rutledge; two children, Billy Ray Rutledge and wife Brittany of Raleigh, North Carolina, Hillary Boyd and husband Stephen of Springdale; and five grandchildren, Archer, Noah, Jonah, Ellis and Rayla.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 12, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow at Fayetteville National Cemetery.  Guests are asked to dress casual or wear your favorite team apparel.
