IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Oplana Tina
Latior
March 1, 1999 – February 6, 2025
Oplana Tina Latior, age 25, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025, in Rogers, Arkansas. She was born on March 1, 1999, in Springdale, Arkansas, to Deacon Runny Latior and Deaconess Shako Albious Latior. Oplana was a devoted member of Arkansas JRD United Church of Christ in Springdale, Arkansas. She enjoyed listening to Marshallese music and spending time with her family. Born with diabetes, her condition worsened during junior high school, eventually leading to blindness and kidney failure. She underwent dialysis three times a week. Oplana was the youngest in her family and the only one born in the United States, holding dual U.S. and Marshallese citizenship. Despite her health challenges, she remained strong in spirit. Tragically, just 15 months ago, her older brother also passed away from kidney failure.
Oplana is survived by her parents, Runny & Shako Latior; her siblings, Perlinda Gideon Jinira, Lynn Gideon, Kathyleen Runny Latior Silk, Kon Runny, Augustina Latior Albious, Justina Runny Joel, Albious Latior, Kaka Runny Ned, and Leeroy Latior; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a Marshallese visitation/wake from Thursday, February 27, until Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (2925 N. Old Missouri Road, Fayetteville, Arkansas 72703). A graveside service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Friendship Cemetery in Springdale, Arkansas. Rev. Jeson Lakjin will officiate the funeral service. Donations may be made to Heritage Funeral Home in Springdale, Arkansas. For questions, please contact Albious Latior at (479) 320-9982.
