Nelle Josephine "Jo" Armstrong, age 100 of Fayetteville, died Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Willard Walker Hospice.  She was born February 12, 1922 in Hutchinson, Kansas, to the late Joseph Paul and Edna Pearl (Walden) Ricks, the youngest of four daughters.  On March 17, 1945 Jo married Ralph Leion "Jack" Armstrong in Hutchinson, Kansas.  He preceded her in death on August 14, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her three sisters, Elizabeth, Virginia an JoAnne.

Jo was a homemaker throughout her life and enjoyed gardening and cooking.  She was very active in St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Springdale where she served on the Alter Guild for over 40 years.  She was also a member of the vestry and served as senior warden.  Jo cherished spending time with her family.

She is survived by four children, Gary Armstrong and his wife, Marla of Eagle Rock, Missouri, Susan Armstrong of Fayetteville, Julie Streachek and her husband, John of Rogers, Melinn Burlingame and her husband, Mike of Springdale; six grandchildren, James, Jay, Jeremiah, Chelsea, Megan and Joe; ten great-grandchildren, Cole, Cooper, Carson, Chloe, Hudson, Beckham, Davis, Hallie, Brooks and Miles

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 19, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Springdale.  Interment will follow at Bluff Cemetery .  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas Episcopal Church Alter Guild ministry or Willard Walker Hospice in care of the Washington Regional Foundation.
