Nancy Carolyn Skaggs age 78 passed away Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Willard Walker Hospice in Fayetteville.  She was born on November 12, 1945 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Wanda Richards and Harvey Jack Austin.  On March 12,1966 in Stillwell, Oklahoma, Nancy married Dentis Loyd Skaggs. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Nancy found joy in the simple pleasures of life—cooking delicious meals for her loved ones, curling up with a good romance novel, and challenging herself with crossword puzzles. An avid fan of daytime dramas, she never missed an episode of her favorite soap operas. Nancy also had an artistic spirit and spent time drawing during her early years, filling many a sketch book. She also had a special place in her heart for babies. Her gentle spirit and nurturing nature led her to volunteer in the church nursery whenever she could. Nancy received so much joy working with young children and was able to share her love with others through her service   She is preceded in death by parents, Wanda and Harvey Austin; brother, Harvey "Buzzy" Austin; sister, Jacquelyn Austin.

Nancy is survived by daughters, Kim Sherman and her partner, James O'Connell of Springdale, Staci and her husband Charles Hankins of Springdale and Laura Demaris and her partner Gary Brisco of Fayetteville; four grandchildren, Brandon Sherman, Austin and wife Ashley Sherman, Jessica Hankins and Ian and wife Skye Waters; great grandchildren, Isabelle Sherman, Maximus Sherman, Nash Waters, Parker Waters and Silas Waters.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Mike Sypult officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home.
