Obituary

 Monzer Mansour was a native of Atlanta, Georgia, and a first generation American, born to a Colombian mother and Palestinian father in 1963. He completed his education at Georgia State and the University of Georgia with two masters in philosophy and religious studies as well as a law degree. Monzer began a bilingual law practice in Northwest Arkansas in 1997. As an attorney, he was known for his work with the Latino community in Washington and Benton Counties, and for outstanding achievements with the Arkansas ACLU. 

 Monzer made his home in Fayetteville, where he loved to walk in the woods near his house by the lake. He died of colon and liver cancer on May 4, 2023, surrounded by his friends, family, and the dedicated staff of Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. Monzer is survived by his daughter Morgan Mansour, his sister Juliette Mansour, their spouses Andrew Dobson and Karen Stack, and a large community of friends and colleagues, as well as his beloved dogs, Chopper and Angel, and cat, Gabby. 

 Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas on Friday, May 12 at 2pm, followed by a gathering at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks at 3 pm. Memorial contributions may be made in Monzer's name to the following charities:    Arkansas Chapter of ACLU ,     Arkansas Immigrant Defense,     Legal Aid of Arkansas
