Mary "Niecie" Janice Brashear, age 76, died Friday, November 17, 2023 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born on September 27, 1947 in Atkins, Arkansas to the late LeRoy and Martha Cathryn (Whittenburg) McNutt.

She loved reading mysteries and biographies. Niecie would read for hours. She attended the University of Arkansas but was just a few hours short of having her degree in history and African American studies due to illness. Niecie was a cancer survivor. She worked for several years in Special education in Dodge City, KS and Hot Springs, AR. Nieciie was an awesome mother to her children as well as a wonderful wife and friend for 46 years to her husband. She was preceded in death by brother, James Wesley McNutt.

She is survived by husband, Ronnie Brashear; daughter, Amy Brashear of Fayetteville, Arkansas; son, Alexander Brashear of Fayetteville, Arkansas; sister Kathy and her husband Jerry Duvall of Hattieville, Arkansas; brother, Jimmy McNutt of Atkins, Arkansas and a host of extended family.

There are no services scheduled at this time. The cremation is under the care of Heritage Funeral Home in Springdale, Arkansas.

Memorials maybe made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Shriner's Hospital for Children.
