Martha Marie Massey, 90, died Thursday, July 8, in Springdale. She was born March 29, 1931, in Alco, to Walter Edwin and Bertha Mae Farris Sutterfield. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was married to Tedford Walker Massey April 26, 1952 and they enjoyed 54 years of marriage before his death in 2006. Martha was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and an avid fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks.

She is survived by one daughter, Deretha Ann Ames and husband Paul; one son, Edwin Massey and wife Alescha; two grandsons, Corey Ames and wife Crystal of Benton, and Michael Ames and wife Nicki of Benton; one granddaughter, Mandy Estes and husband Dallas of Springdale; one great-granddaughter, Shelby Lyn Ames; five great-grandsons, Jared Walker Ames, Noah Estes, Henry Walker Estes, Sawyer Ames, Benjamin Estes, and Samuel Ames; one sister, Jessie Mae Marriott and husband Kenneth of Springdale; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband; four brothers, Carl, Leslie, Ferrell and Dorsey; two nephews, James and Dwight Sutterfield; and one niece, Marsha Ann Marriott.

A funeral service will be private to the family with interment at Fayetteville National Cemetery.
