Louis Wayne Williams, age 81, passed away on Thursday, June 6,2024 in Springdale, Arkansas. He was born on September 11,1942 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to the late Louis Alexander Williams and Edyth Rowena (Ridley) Woodward. Louis was a respected figure in Arkansas law enforcement. A dedicated public servant, he served 25 years with the Washington County Sheriff's Office followed by a decade with the U.S. Marshals in Fayetteville. Throughout his career, Louis was known for his sharp shooting skills, even earning recognition as an award-winning marksman with numerous trophies. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy and Jerry Woodward, two sisters, Deana Woodward and Donna Barker and one grandson, Elijah Thomas Ludwick.
Louis is survived by his wife, Margrette (Dabbs) Williams; two sons, Kevin Wayne Williams and Lee Miller of New Orleans, Louisiana, Louis Clayton Williams and Tracy McFetridge of Springdale, Arkansas; daughter, Angela and husband Rodney Ludwick of Springdale, Arkansas; three brothers, Chuck and wife Tammi Williams of Madras, Oregon, Paul Williams of Rose Valley, Oregon, Steve and wife Sam Williams of Kelso, Washington,; four sisters, Peggy and husband Bob Hagan of Prineville, Oregon, Patty Anderson of Prineville, Oregon, Mary Jo Williams of Woodland, Washington, Carol Williams of Texas; one grandchild, William David Ludwick and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 11,2024 at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel in Springdale, Arkansas. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 12,2024 at the funeral home with Chaplin Chuck Bengtson to officiate the service. Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of Heritage Funeral Home.
