Lois Mae Guess, age 89 of Springdale, died Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. She was born March 30, 1933 in Green Forest, Arkansas to Delbert and Fredia Disheroon Usrey. On November 1, 1952, she married Carroll Guess. Lois worked as a secretary for Springdale Memorial Hospital where she enjoyed learning from doctors and nurses. She was very talented when it came to sewing, gardening, painting and completing wood working projects. She spent a great amount of her time researching family history. Lois loved her Lord while serving her church during her younger years. In her later years, Lois faithfully watched the services of First Baptist Church in Ft. Smith, Arkansas.

Lois is survived by her husband of 70 years, Carroll Guess of Springdale; daughters, Katerina and her husband, Phillip Foley, Laquita and her husband, James Maxwell, all of Springdale; two grandchildren, Jonathan Isaac Foley of Little Rock, Emma Elizabeth Foley of Fayetteville.

Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Friendship Cemetery with David Watson officiating. A visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home prior to the service. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home of Springdale.
