Lloyd Asa Coger, 90, of Springdale, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024. He was born October 6,1933 in the War Eagle Community to the late Jack and Ruby (Gibson) Coger. Lloyd attended a one-room schoolhouse in Hickory Flat and graduated from Springdale High School in 1951. He grew up farming beef cattle close to the War Eagle River until Beaver Lake covered the good farmland. Lloyd worked for Boeing aircraft in Wichita, KS until he was drafted into the military. He was a Korean War veteran who was drafted into the Army as a military police officer in 1953 and served from 1954 to 1955. He attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and majored in business. Lloyd worked at Tyson Foods in accounting and later retired from First National Bank of Springdale after 30 years. He married Juanita Pianalto on April 8, 1961. Lloyd was a long-time member of the St Raphael's Catholic Church in Springdale. He was preceded in death by one sister, Jackie Sizemore.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Juanita Pianalto Coger of Springdale; five children, Larry (Kim) Coger of Springdale, Lester (Mary) Coger of Springdale, Glen (Sandra) Coger of Las Vegas, Nevada, Linda Coger of Springdale, and Janice (Bob) Rebholz of Orange County, California; thirteen grandchildren, Logan (Tara) Coger, Zac Coger, Ashley Crowther, Corey (Molly) Crowther, Carlee (Garrett) Schriver, Jadon Coger, Rachel Coger, Daniel (Kezia) Coger, Leslie Coger, Spencer Hornsey, Lindsay Rebholz; Chelsea Rebholz; and Jake Rebholz; four great grandchildren, Shailyn, Lauren, Carter and Cameron.
Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7,2024 at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel in Springdale, Arkansas. Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 7,2024 at St. Joseph Cemetery in Tontitown, Arkansas.
