Leslie D. Phipps, age 82, died Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Willard Walker Hospice in Fayetteville.  He was born August 16, 1939 in Elkins to Lawrence Riley and Daisy (Harrelson) Phipps.  Leslie retired as a Sargent Major after 35 years of serving in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves.  He enjoyed gardening and was a Christian gentleman.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Phipps; two children, Dee Ann Schwyhart of Lowell, Bryan Phipps and wife Pam of Springdale; and two grandchildren, Ethan Phipps and wife Jackie, and Brynn Phipps; and former wife and mother of his children, Peggy Ann Phipps.  He was preceded in death by four brothers, Lawrence Keith Phipps, Norman Phipps, Calvin Phipps, Robert Phipps, and a sister, Clara Inez Hutchinson.

Cremation has taken place and a family service is pending.
