Obituary

Leonard Floyd Pianalto passed away at his home in Tontitown on February 23, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Leonard was born on July 9, 1929, in Tontitown where he lived his 93 years making his hometown a better place. He was the 9 th child of 13 children born to the late Leo and Lucy Pianalto. He was raised in a farming family who were faithful Catholics, knew the value of hard work, and was taught to treat others with dignity and respect. Leonard left the farm in 1949 to begin his career at Heekin Can Company in Springdale, where he took pride in his work; first as a mechanic and later as the assembly supervisor. He retired in 1987 and enjoyed camping, trout fishing, repairing old lawnmowers, and riding his bicycle. Leonard lived each day as a gift and rarely had a bad day. Even as his aging body prevented him from pursuing his work and hobbies, his approach to living each day to its fullest never changed. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene, Lawrence, Gabe, Oliver, Francis, Leo Jr., Edward, Raymond Pianalto; sisters, Olivia Pianalto, Olivia (Pianalto) Ciganaro, and Lillian (Pianalto) Smith.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Evelyn (Reynolds) Pianalto; two sons, Stan and his wife, Becky Pianalto, Eric and his wife, Dawn Pianalto, all of Tontitown; grandchildren Nicole (Pianalto) Spear and her husband, Shane, Christian Pianalto, Brooke (Pianalto) Raymond and her husband, Taylor, Mikayla (Pianalto) Eveld and her husband, Andrew, and Hannah Pianalto; bonus grandchildren, Teresa LoPiccolo, Ashley (Cheek) Schulz and her husband, Brandon, Jonathon Cheek and his wife, Elizabeth; great grandson, Luka Spear; bonus great grandchildren, Ayden LoPiccolo, Emma LoPiccolo, Josie Schulz, Breelee Cheek, Rayland Schulz, and Hunter Cheek; sister, Juanita (Pianalto) Coger of Springdale.
