McGarrah Sr.
May 23, 1959 — Aug 11, 2026
Springdale
Joseph Anthony McGarrah Sr. passed away August 11, 2026 at Freeman Medical Center in Springdale, Arkansas, at the age of 67. Joseph was born May 23, 1959 in Kansas City, MO.
Joseph lived in the Northwest Arkansas area most of his life. Joseph worked for the 71 Business Auction as a delivery driver. Joseph would marry Blanche D. Emlet on May 27, 1981 in Springdale, Arkansas. Together they would have two children, Joseph Anthony and DeAnna Dawn.
Joseph took joy in being outdoors, fishing and hunting. He also loved to turn a wrench while doing mechanical work on cars. Joseph was known to his family as a big flirt, and he enjoyed watching comedies which made him a professional at telling jokes. Joseph loved animals, and they seemingly loved him as his family recalls it was “like they were attracted to him.” Joseph had many friends due to his nature having never met a stranger.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Monty McGarrah.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Blanche; two children, Josephy Anthony McGarrah of Fayetteville, AR and DeAnna Dawn McGarrah of Springdale, AR; two brothers, Clifford McGarrah of Independence, MO, Danny Burnett of Great Falls, MT; two sisters, Yolanda Shepherd and husband Willard of Springdale, AR and Tina Shoyer and husband Randy of Indpendence, MO; and one great-nephew, Alexander “AJ” Setzer.
