Joseph Anthony McGarrah Sr., better known as Tony, passed away August 11, 2026 at Freeman Medical Center in Springdale, Arkansas at the age of 67.

Tony was born May 23, 1959 to Hubert Dean McGarrah & Della Mae (Whited) McGarrah in Kansas City, Missouri. On May 27, 1981, Tony wed Blanche D. Emlet in Springdale, Arkansas, and later had two children, Joseph Anthony McGarrah Jr. and DeAnna Dawn McGarrah.

Throughout his life, Tony loved working with his hands, repairing small engines and gardening. Tony was probably known best for his ability to befriend anyone. He Had a love for all animals. Tony also had a specialty to be able to make anyone crack a smile with one of his many and I mean many jokes. He was everyone’s friend, and was always there for people even when they didn’t need him. His truest passion was fishing amongst other outdoor activities.

Tony is preceded in death by both his parents and one brother, Monty McGarrah. He is survived by his wife; two children; a great-nephew, Aleczander ‘AJ’ Setzer; two brothers, Clifford McGarrah of Independence, Missouri, and Danny Burnett of Great Falls, Montana; two sisters, Yolanda Shepherd and husband Willard both of Springdale, Arkansas and Tina Shoyer and husband Randy of Independence, Missouri.

A celebration of life will be Friday, September 4, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Heritage Funeral Home Chapel in Springdale, Arkansas.
