Jerry Polston, 78, of Springdale, died Tuesday, July 24, 2018. He was born September 4, 1939 in Saffell, Arkansas to Thurman Edgar and Retha Gertrude Jarrett Polston. Jerry was a carpenter throughout his life. He married Verlon Louise Mullen on October 22, 1956 in Jonesboro. He was the lead singer with the Gospel String Quartet and a longtime member of Phillips Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by four children, Tom Polston and wife Diann of Clifty, Twana Miller and husband Russell of Evening Shade, Tonia Heckman and husband John of Sherwood, Traci Day and husband Tim of Springdale; one brother, Alfred Polston; one sister, Brenda Wright, both of Strawberry; 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife on September 25, 2017; a son, Terry Polston in 2007; five brothers and two sisters.

A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 28, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel.
