Obituary

Javier Velasco-Tijero, age 61 passed away on November 7, 2024 in Springdale, Arkansas. He was born on September 28, 1963 in Mexico City, Mexico to Palicarpio Canales and Martha Zapien. Javier had a strong work ethic, including landscaping and tree work. He enjoyed watching soccer, listening to old music and collecting antiques. He had a love for old cars. Javier was a club America fanatic. One of his favorite players was Cuauhtémoc Blanco. He was a son, a father, an uncle, and a grandfather, who enjoyed spending his time with his family. His children's happiness meant a lot to him. He took time to teach his children life lessons such as how to ride a bike and how to swim. Javier would often go without things for himself to allow his children to have what they needed first. He believed in a higher power. The family has peace that he is in a better place. Javier was thoughtful, caring and loving. He enjoyed spending time with is grandchildren and making his grandchildren laugh. Javier was preceded in death by his father and one daughter.

He is survived by six children; seven grandchildren; six siblings; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Heritage Funeral Chapel in Springdale, Arkansas. Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of Heritage Funeral Home.
