IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Glenda Kay
Siemens
September 15, 1938 – February 25, 2023
Glenda Kay Siemens, 84 of Clarksville, Arkansas, died Saturday, February 25, 2023, at her home. She was born September 15, 1938 in Enid, Oklahoma, to James Jesse and Rena Faye (Coleman) Fields. Glenda was a homemaker throughout her life and devoted to her husband and family. She married Gene Siemens on August 30, 1956, in Oklahoma City, where they began their family. She then moved with her husband and two oldest children to Durango, Colorado, in 1967, where their other two children would be born. The family had a small farm and Glenda was always busy managing the home, gardening and canning (and even butchering chickens). She and her husband would later own and operate an assisted living center together. She was always ready to serve and encourage others. The couple retired first to Springdale, and later Clarksville to be near their children.
Glenda was a fantastic cook, extremely diligent in everything she did, and enjoyed showing hospitality. In later years always looked forward to attending her grand and great-grandchildren's activities even when it became difficult to get around. Above all, she loved and faithfully served her Lord and Savior throughout her life and was a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years and devoted caregiver, Gene Siemens; four children, Gena Avaritt and husband Terry, Gig Siemens and wife Paula, Grant Siemens and wife Kimberlee, Garrett Siemens and wife Lara; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lyle Fields; and dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Owalah Bates.
A funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 3, at City Park Church of Christ in Clarksville. Interment will be at Minnow Creek Cemetery . Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Arkansas Hospice Foundation online, or by mail at 14 Parkstone Circle North, Little Rock, AR 72116.
