Obituary

Gerald Lee "Jerry" Meyer, age 66, of Springdale, died Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. He was born September 19, 1955 in Emporia, Kansas  to Robert Willis and Helen May (Schutter) Meyer. On December 23, 1993 he married the love of his life, Isabel, and together they raised their family. Jerry had a love for watching football, with his favorite team being the Kansas City Chiefs. He also closely followed the Arkansas Razorbacks. "Tall Man" as he was affectionately called by his boys , Papa Jerry to his grandchildren, he was always the jokester. When asked why he had prosthetic legs, he would tell them a tiger bit his leg off. With a zest for life, he enjoyed going to concerts, especially Rock 'N' Roll ones. Jerry and Isabel always liked going to Mexico to visit her family. Cancun was one of their favorite places to visit. In his down time Jerry liked to watch "Junk T.V.," as he liked to called it. Modern Family was his favorite sitcom. Tombstone was his favorite movie. The true joy in Jerry's life was his loving family.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of almost 28 years, Isabel; four sons, Justin Meyer and his wife, Rebecca, Jesse Meyer and his wife Aimee, all of Nevada, Missouri, Juan Ruiz and his fiancé Nikki, of Springdale, Arkansas, Alejandro Ruiz of Kansas City, Missouri; brother, Robert Meyer and his wife Debbie, of Topeka, Kansas; sister, Leanne Beatty and her husband Jesse, of El Dorado Springs, Arkansas; numerous  grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel.
