Obituary

Freddie Lee Cooper, 64, of Goshen, died Thursday, February 20, 2020 at the Veteran's Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born September 12, 1955 in Ada, Oklahoma to Betty Nelson. He is preceded by his parents, Fred and Lois Cooper and his grandfather, Lee H. Cooper. Freddie was a Marine Corp veteran, and was a professional and passionate musician. He worked throughout his life as a journalist with various media outlets. He was an accomplished artist and enjoyed woodworking.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Cooper; three daughters, Jill Marquit, Autumn Hopkins, Sarah Penner; honorary daughters, Joanna Smith, Natalie Dylan-Jones; five brothers, two sisters, and five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Freddie's life will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Spirit of Harmony, an organization that puts refurbished instruments into the hands of young people.
