IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dustin Lee
Moffett
April 6, 1947 – April 20, 2024
Dustin Lee Moffett, age 77, passed away on April 20, 2024, in Springdale, Arkansas. He was born in Charleston, Arkansas on April 06, 1947, to the late Cecil Dustin and Wilma Lousie (McClelland) Moffett. Lee was a proud alumnus of the University of Arkansas, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree, while serving in the United States Army Reserves. He transitioned to active duty as a United States Army Reserve recruiter until his retirement after 27 years of service. In addition to loyally calling the Hogs, he was a lover of military history, reading the latest Tom Clancy novel and playing golf even if it turned out to be more of a "good walk spoiled." His creative nature resulted in a large collection of military models he put together along with painting miniature replica soldiers from various significant military eras. His love for the game of golf almost rivaled his love of military history. While he often described himself as just a "hacker" he never met a golf club he didn't need or a sweater vest that wouldn't look good on the golf course. He never made it over to the famous St. Andrews golf course; however, he would talk about how amazing it would be to go over and walk on that hallowed ground and pay his respects to the greatest links courses ever created. He will always be remembered for never having met a stranger, being proud of his family, and rooting for the Razorbacks, especially when playing his favorite sports football, basketball, and golf. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lou Ann Davis, and one nephew, Kelly Wayne Davis.
He is survived by his one son, Dustin Moffett of Muldrow, OK; one daughter, Amber and Kevin Krotky of Massillon, Ohio; one nephew, Kyle and Mary Davis of Texarkana, Arkansas; one niece, Kathie and Quinn Engel of Tonitown, Arkansas; his great-nephews, Samual (Sam) and Odalys Engel, Zachary (Zach) and Christy Engel, and Spencer and EM Davis, his great-nieces, Rebekah Davis, Rachael and Jonathan Boren, Jessica and Kyle Lamon and Sydney Davis and fiancé Vince Johan; great-great nephews and nieces, Damián Engel, Ella and Thomas Boren, Amelia, Fletcher and Jackson Lamon and a host of extended family.
Graveside services will be held at 9:30 A.M, Friday, April 26, 2024, in Fayetteville National Cemetery. Cremation is under the care of Heritage Funeral Home of Springdale, Arkansas.
