Dentis Loyd Skaggs, age 83 of Springdale, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2026 in Springdale. He was born on November 16, 1942 to the late Arlie and Bessie Reed Skaggs. On March 12, 1066 he married Nancy Austin in Stillwell, Oklahoma. Loyd worked for Tyson Industries for over 40 years until he retired. Mr. Skaggs was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy on October 26, 2024. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Denver Skaggs, David Skaggs and Mac Skaggs; three sisters, Carolyn Turner, Louvella Shirey and Zada Skaggs.

He is survived by three daughters, Kim Sherman (James O’Connell) of Springdale, Staci Hankins and her husband, Charles of Springdale, Laura Demaris (Gary Brisco) of Springdale; four grandchildren, Brandon Sherman, Austin (Ashley) Sherman, Jessica Hankins (Chris Williams), Ian (Skye) Waters; six great grandchildren, Isabelle Sherman, Maximus Sherman, Nash Waters, Parker Waters, Silas Waters and Asa Williams; three sisters, Robbie Skaggs of Springdale, Lura (Lonnie) Madewell of Fayetteville, Leta (Rod) White of Springdale; two brothers, Doyle Skaggs of Springdale, Ben (Dorothy) Skaggs of Fayetteville.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 15, 2026 at Friendship Baptist Church with Mike Sypult officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Oark Cemetery in Oark, Arkansas.
