Obituary

Clell Vernon “Pete” Bohlen, age 82, of Rogers, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2026, in Bentonville. He was born July 10, 1944, in Rogers, Arkansas, to the late Kendall and Lousettia Blair Bohlen.

Pete worked as a laboratory technician for Kennametal, where he dedicated 32 years of service before retiring in 2009. He was a hardworking man who took great pride in his work, and he lived a life full of warmth, laughter and deep devotion to his family. His hobbies included fishing, whittling, and woodworking. He was a very gracious and kind man who never met a stranger and often provided love and support to anyone in need. Pete’s kindness, love and grace left a lasting legacy that will live on through his family and friends.  Pete was preceded in death by his wife, Carole, in 2007; two daughters, Debra Duncan and Carolyn Behlke; his brothers, Bob Starling, William Starling and Clyde Carroll Bohlen; and his sister, Rose Ann Bohlen- Santhuff.

Pete’s family was an important part of his life. He was married to Gloria Dean Sullivan in 1966, and together they had one daughter, Kimberly Smith. Pete and Gloria later divorced in 1979. In 1987, Pete remarried Carole Bond Stockton, gaining three daughters, expanding the family he loved so dearly.

Pete is survived by his daughter, Kim Smith and her husband, Billy Allen, of Rogers; his daughter, Jennie Bastings and her husband, Scott, of Oronogo, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Billie Woodward, Haley Thornhill, Emilee Smith, Gracee Smith, Sarah Cole, Edna Cole, Dreama Lanclos, Christy Rector and Michael Rector; 22 great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Eugene Bohlen of Rainer, Oregon; Virgil Bohlen and his wife, Bernice, of Rogers; Mary Castleman and her husband, Larry, of Rogers; Perry Starling Jr. and his wife, Elaine, of Leslie, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pete will be remembered by his family and friends for the life he shared with those around him and for the lasting place he held in the hearts of the people who loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 28, 2026, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Silent Grove Cemetery in Springdale. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Friday prior to the service.  Pallbearers will be Russell Williams, Scott Bastings, James Woodward, Don Thornhill Jr., Billy Allen and Adam Smith
