IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Chris
Stanford
November 8, 1938 – September 30, 2024
Chris Stanford of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, age 85, went home to be with her Savior Jesus on September 30, 2024, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born November 8, 1938, in Long Branch, New Jersey to the late Thomas and Anna (Hansen) Framnes. Chris was, first and foremost, a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. She loved to study the bible, talk about the things of God with friends, pray for people, and sing along and tap her toes to great Southern Gospel music! A bookkeeper by trade, Chris loved reading and history, particularly family genealogy. As a labor of love and as a gift to her family, she took on the laborious, pre-internet task of researching and reconstructing the genealogies for her family tree as well as her husband Mel's. She loved to travel – extensively within the U.S. as well as Israel, Australia. She traveled multiple times to her beloved Norway, from whence her parents emigrated. Chris was known as "Bestemor" ("grandmother" in Norwegian) to many, not limited to her grandchildren! She lived a full, complete life - she knew the love of God and her family, and her house was in order. Though she will be missed dearly here on earth, she is home free: living eternally with her Lord Jesus. Chris was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Pardue Stanford; three brothers, Spencer Samuelsen, Norman Samuelsen, and Tommy Framnes; one granddaughter, Rachel Joy Stanford, and one great-granddaughter, Adalynn Morrison.
She is survived by two sons, Tom and his wife Ann Stanford of Nashville, Tennessee, and Rodney and his wife Dawn Stanford of Fayetteville, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Ian Stanford, Stephanie Morrison, and Rebecca Vick; four great grandchildren, Isaiah Morrison, Liam Morrison, Jack Morrison, and Riley Vick; with a host of extended family.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 26 at 10:00 am at The Assembly Church in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Donations may be made to Gideons International or SOLU Ministry . Cremation services are under the care of Heritage Funeral Home.
