Charles Vick Maxwell, Jr., age 83, passed away Monday, May 12, 2025 at his home in Springdale, Arkansas. He was born on August 8, 1941 in Hinsonton, Georgia to the late Charles Sr. and Alyse (Kelley) Maxwell.

Charles was a remarkable man and for nearly six decades, he dedicated his life to the study of animal science. He shared his passion and knowledge with countless students at the University of Arkansas and Oklahoma State University. Beyond the lecture hall, he was a loving grandfather, whose warmth and affection enriched the lives of his family. His legacy will live on through his contributions to his field and the cherished memories held by those who knew and loved him. He is preceded by his three sisters, Sandra Maxwell, Janie Maxwell and Sue Maxwell.

Charles is survived by his wife, Gayle (Janosko) Maxwell; son, Charles Vick Maxwell, III and his wife, Christine of Springdale; daughter, Melissa Maxwell of Portland, Oregon; brother, Alan Maxwell and wife, Faye of Hinsonton, Georgia; five grandchildren, Carter, Cara, Connor, Phillip, and Ethan Maxwell; a host of extended family.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 21, 2025 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation to follow under the care Heritage Funeral Home (479) 751-2444.
