Carl Ray Tripp, age 95, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2025 in Springdale, Arkansas. He was born May 19, 1930 in St Louis, Missouri to the late Charlie Lee and Audie Ella (Sharpton) Tripp and was the middle son of five boys. At the age of 11, he was saved and baptized in a local creek, a testament to his lifelong faith. Ray was a member of Cross Church in Springdale, Arkansas, for many years.
His family moved to Springdale in 1943, where he began his first job picking strawberries. Ray left school after the 8th grade to work with his father, a carpenter, learning trade firsthand. His strong work ethic led him through a diverse career, including delivering milk for Highland Diary, repairing electronics at Jim's Radio and TV, and serving as a letter carrier for the Springdale Post Office. He eventually retired as Postmaster in Pettigrew, Arkansas. On August 15, 1950, Ray married the love of his life, Vera Mary Senger. They shared a remarkable 66 years together before her passing in 2016
A dedicated patriot in the US Army, Ray served two tours of duty during the Korean War. He was a man of strong convictions, and when he received a call to serve a third time, he politely but firmly declined, stating they needed to find someone else as he was not going back.
He is survived by son, Carl Raydell Tripp and his wife, Sherri; daughter, Vivian Ella Sturdivant and husband, Rick; four grandchildren, Josh Worthy, Daniel Worthy, Leah Wilder and Steven Tripp; four great grandchildren, Ellison, Lillian, Hunter and Sadie Grace.
Funeral services will be private. Memorials can be made in his honor to Cross Church Springdale , 1709 Johnson Rd. Springdale, AR 72762.
